bizanalyst.org is a blog started by the Brett Bonner and his son Brett Gardner Bonner for their personal enjoyment and to share ideas. .  It is a career blog that will mix both work and personal interests, and it will stay will them as each progresses from one job to the next.

This blog will not be about being a Business Analyst in IIBA® sense of the term, but it this blog is about business and the Bretts do like to analyze things.  The idea is that each Brett will chronicle the interesting aspects of his career as they develop and share thoughts on relevant topics along the way.  Topics will be varied but will have an emphasis on Technology, Marketing, Engineering, and Management.

Brett Gardner Bonner

Brett Gardner Bonner provides technology and business analysis services for Global 500 executives. His projects have introduced a broad scope of emerging technologies to his executive clients as a strategy for larger adoption by the enterprise.  Recent project technologies include platform virtualization, telepresence, unified communications, and social software.

Brett’s career started at the age of 14 designing web sites for non-profit businesses and local internet service providers. He later joined FedEx in 2001 as a college intern, and upon graduation began full-time in 2005 working for FedEx’s Chief Technology Architect on technology infrastructure and software R&D initiatives.

Brett holds Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Information Systems, both from the University of Memphis.

Brett B. Bonner

Brett B. Bonner, P.E. combines his expertise in management sciences with the engineering disciplines of mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science and programming, and optics. In his career he has created numerous operational and technical enhancements. Significantly, he has a number of patents with additional patents pending. Since 1996, direct measurements and bottom line contributions from his innovations have now exceeded $5 billion U.S. dollars.

Brett joined The Kroger Co. in June 2006, and currently is the Senior Director of Information Systems Research and Development, reporting to the Chief Information Officer.  Previously, Bonner worked for Federal Express and Kellogg Company where he held the positions of Managing Director and Vice President.

Bonner graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Memphis. He also attended graduate programs at Western Michigan University and Rennesslaer Polytechnic Institute. He is currently enrolled in Concord University School of Law, and intends to use his law knowledge in conjunction with his engineering and management expertise for multi-dimensional problem resolution.
